Yorktown's Killer - I-168 was an experimental fleet submarine. 1 boat commissioned 1934. Six torpedo tubes, 14 torpedoes. Famous for sinking damaged USS Yorktown after Battle of Midway (June 1942). Penetrated destroyer screen, torpedoed Yorktown under tow, finished off carrier and escort destroyer USS Hammann. One of most successful single submarine attacks. Sunk July 1943 by Allied ASW forces.
