1920s Destroyer Leaders - Nagara-class were improved Kuma-class light cruisers. 6 ships built 1922-1923. Seven 5.5-inch guns + eight 24-inch torpedoes. High speed (36 knots). All six lost in combat 1942-1945 (100% loss rate). Participated extensively in every major campaign from Pearl Harbor to Philippines.
