Most powerful engines (20,000 SHP turbines), best range (2,600 nm) for extended Atlantic operations. Enhanced seakeeping and improved stability over earlier classes. Many ships completed late in war (1915-1916), saw limited service but represented culmination of German WWI destroyer evolution. Served: High Seas Fleet operations, North Sea patrols, some Battle of Jutland (late arrivals). Survivors scrapped 1919-1920 under Treaty of Versailles.
