Treaty-restricted "torpedo boat" (officially under 800 tons, actually 924 tons). 924 tons, 3× 10.5cm SK C/28 guns, 6× 533mm torpedoes, 33.8 knots. Slight improvements: better range (3,150 nm), improved turbine efficiency. Named after mythical predator (Griffon). Single ship class demonstrated continuous refinement of Type 23 design. Maintained German destroyer expertise during treaty period. Served entire WWII (1939-1945): Baltic Sea, convoy escort, mine-laying, Norway campaign. Survived entire war, decommissioned 1945.
